The Process Step by Step

Solar Santa Monica plans to select 50 demonstration sites, both residential and commercial, to install bundled packages of energy efficiency measures and solar systems.  Solar Santa Monica will facilitate all phases of the work.  This is the process:

  • Complete the Questionnaire.
  • Prepare for the On-Site Energy Assessment by collecting at least 12 months of electricity and gas bills.  Attend the Assessment with the Solar Santa Monica team to decide what improvements are to be made and what they will cost.  Any Solar Santa Monica financing will be made available.
  • If you elect to move forward , your project will be assigned to a Package Provider.
  • The Package Provider will verify all upgrades and draw up a contract for your signature.  
  • You will be asked for a down-payment, not to exceed $1,000.
  • The Package Provider will initiate any required permitting with the assistance of the Solar Santa Monica. Permit fees for solar installations have been waived.
  • The Package Provider will schedule and complete the installation.
  • The Package Provider will arrange for final inspections and permits, and once they are complete, will invoice you for the balance of efficiency and/or solar system costs.
  • The Package Provider will warrant products and installations per California and industry standards.
